Now You Don't Workshop (Tuesday, 16 June 2026)
Ever wondered how simple ingredients can create surprising reactions that seem to appear and disappear like magic?
In this Now You Don’t Workshop, children will explore a series of exciting bubble and fizz experiments that create surprising, magical-looking effects. From shimmering bubbles to fizzy, sparkling reactions, they will discover how everyday materials can behave in unexpected ways.
Through this hands-on experience, children will create their own bubbling reactions by producing carbon dioxide and observing how liquids come alive with effervescent energy. As they experiment, they will uncover the science behind surface tension, learning how it allows bubbles to form, stretch, shimmer and sometimes last longer than expected.
Children will also explore how bubbles form, why they behave the way they do and how different conditions affect their strength and stability. Through playful investigation, they will connect scientific concepts such as gas production, surface tension and pressure to real-world phenomena.
By the end of the session, children will have a deeper understanding of how science can create effects that look like magic, but are explained through simple scientific principles.
