Young Inventor Academy: HeroBots (Tuesday, 15 Sep/22 Sep/ 29 Sep/ 6 Oct/ 13 Oct 2026)

Following the exciting possibilities explored in our AIdea programme, we are opening the door to an even bigger world of invention, creativity and innovation!

Students will take on exciting creative challenges, develop their own ideas and design a HeroBot that is completely unique to them.

Along the way, they will discover how design thinking and AI can help bring their ideas to life, while learning that they remain in control of the ideas they create.

Over 5 sessions, students will discover how great ideas can be developed, tested, improved and transformed into meaningful inventions.

First Mission: Create Your Own HeroBot!

Every great inventor starts with an idea. Students will begin their journey by imagining and designing a robot that is completely their own. Rather than following a fixed set of instructions or copying an existing design, they will be challenged to think creatively and come up with their own solutions.

Students will explore a mission and take on creative challenges as they develop their own ideas, experiment with different possibilities and refine their HeroBot designs.

Using design thinking skills and creative problem-solving strategies, students will learn that the best inventions do not always happen on the first try. Ideas can be tested, improved, refined and developed further along the way!

AI will also be introduced as a creative tool rather than a replacement for their thinking. Students will first develop their own ideas and input before learning how AI can help accelerate the visualisation of their designs.

They will also be guided on the right mindset when working with AI, including how to communicate their ideas clearly, use AI as a tool to explore possibilities and remain in control of the final outcome.

The ideas belong to the students. AI simply helps them bring those ideas to life visually.

With no single correct answer, every young inventor will have the opportunity to create something uniquely their own and proudly say: “I came up with this!”
